NorCal Grocery Rank and File Gear Up for Contract Expiration

EW4D workshop in Sacramento, CA.

Rank and file grocery members from across Northern California gathered in Sacramento this weekend for a workshop on building member power from the bottom up. Members discussed how to get coworkers involved to organize a contract campaign on the shop floor.

Major UFCW grocery contracts with Kroger and Albertsons companies in Northern California are set to expire beginning April 12, 2025.

Members are demanding a living wage, better staffing and hours, and respect and dignity on the job.

Our unions are stronger when members are united, informed, and involved. That’s why we’re fighting for elected bargaining committees with rank and file membership at the table, coordinated and joint bargaining across locals, and greater investment in organizing new and existing members.
